Matthew Tipper - Academy Director

Matthew Tipper is originally from Porthcawl in Wales UK where he grew up playing golf at the excellent Pyle and Kenfig links course. Matthew has been a golfer since 1989 and turned Professional in 1997.

 Matthew has been associated with DLGA for more than 15 years. Previously as a student of DLGA Matthew then embarked on his passion for teaching by joining the DLGA coaching family at Mission Hills in China , The Worlds largest golf Course in 2005, where he attained his certification and then advanced to his Senior Certification level within 2 years. During his time in China he visited David Leadbetter’s Headquarters in Orlando Florida, to directly assist David and his Master Certified Instructors with their Tour professionals and Elite Amateurs.During David’s visits to China Matthew also travelled and assisted David on 3 occasions with the countries leading amateurs and top businesses.In 2009 Matthew moved to South Korea where he was teaching the KLPGA and KPGA professionals before accepting the new exciting challenge of joining the team at Toya.

Filip Naglak - Fitness Instructor

Filip who was born in Wroclaw has been heavily involved with sport his entire life. Being a keen athlete in his younger days he went on to complete his Masters degree in Physical education at the Sports university right here in Wroclaw in 1998.In 1990 Filip continued his passion for athletics and excelled in hurdling becoming National Junior Champion in 110m and Semi finalist in the European Junior Championships. Filip explosive speed of the mark brought him to the notice of the national Bob sleigh team in 1996 where he finished 6^th in the World Junior Championships and 10^th place in the European Cup.   Filip decided to broaden his experience by moving to the UK  in 1998 where he found his new passion of Golf. Learning his trade in the difficult courses of the English South West he returned to Poland to become a fully qualified member of the PGA Poland. Filip continued his love for the fitness side of golf, now an integral part of elite training and became the very first Level 1 TPI Certified Fitness Instructor in Poland and is know the Fitness coach for Polish National teams. Since joining the team here at Toya Filip has helped organize the 2008/9 DHL Challenge Tour event and many other prestigious tournaments. Since the arrival of the DLGA to Toya, Filip is know the TPI fitness coach and Administration Director to DLGA Toya.

Tomasz Burandt - Associate DLGA Instructor

Tomek has been associated with sport his entire life. In 1991 Tomek attended the University of Physical education where he completed his master degree in 1995 in Physical Training and Sports management whilst also becoming a member of the Polish Olympic Team. Tomek passion for teaching shone through early when he became a proficient windsurfing coach, and then moving on to become one of Poland’s leading sailors claiming 2 Polish Championships in 1998 and 1999. Finishing his dtudies Tomek moved to UK to broaden his development and studied English, advertising and Public relations.

During this time Tomek found his passion for Golf and playued and practiced extensively in London learning under the guidance of the local PGA Professionals. Returning to Poland in 2000 his first professional golf job was Club manager and coach at Mazury Golf and Country Club and in 2002 he became a fully qualified member of the PGA Poland and in 2007 the first fully qualified teacher in Poland. Going through his training Tomek found a passion and skill for the technology side of golf and in 2005 and 2007 he studied under Phil Bonham who is advisor to European Tour star Padraig Harrington. Deciding to further develop his skills Tomek also completed training by European equipment experts Dynacraft  obtaining Total clubmaking Proficiency qualifications in 2001. Having appeared in DVD presentations for the Polish market.  Tomek is now a part of the World’s number 1 Golf Academy network of Instructors that is DLGA. He is embarking on the rigorous and intensive training workbook set by David Leadbetter and will become the very first Polish fully certified DLGA Instructor in the world. Tomek’s passion for coaching beginners and new Junior player’s is one of his great skills.

Alex Smith - DLGA Instructor

Born into a golfing family and raised in South Wales, Alex began playing golf at the age of 3. Alex was selected to play golf for the Welsh National Junior Team at the age of 15 years and went on to represent the Welsh National Team at  Youth and Senior Levels. Alex has won many national and international Junior  Championships, a European Under 21 Youth Team Championship and a Senior Home International Team Championship.

After his successful junior career Alex went on to Graduate from Rollins College in Florida USA, with a BA Degree in Psychology; he won 5 NCAA College tournaments, achieved a 3 time All- American Honour and a NCAA Division 2 National Championship Title. Following a successful amateur career and countless lessons taken with DLGA Toya Director Matthew Tipper, Alex decided to pursue a career in golf.

Alex Turned Professional in 2004 and won 3 times on the mini-tours and played in over 20 events on the European Challenge Tour, but his playing career was cut short due to injury problems in his ankle and back.

Having spent time with some of the finest coaches in the UK, Alex felt the desire to give back to the game and become an instructor. In 2008 Alex based himself at the famous Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club, in South Wales, which is one of the finest links courses in Wales where he under took his PGA Training.

Alex’s ability to communicate to the player not only the importance of the technical side, but mental, physical and management side of the game only emphasises the thoughts of David Leadbetter in “Building a game for life”.
