All David Leadbetter Certified Golf Instructors have completed a stringent and extensive training program. This certification process assures clients the highest level of instruction consistency from all David Leadbetter Certified Instructors no matter which David Leadbetter Golf Academy around the world they choose.

In addition to this initial training and to further ensure all Academy Certified Instructors remain current on the latest in teaching trends and technologies, a yearly recertification process is also required. As part of the recertification program, all Instructors receive DVD copies of lessons given by David Leadbetter.

They also attend presentations regarding current trends, techniques, and drills used by David and his teaching staff at the global headquarters at Champions Gate, Florida. Each Certified Instructor must also visit Champions Gate annually to improve and refresh their teaching skills by observing and assisting David Leadbetter and his Master Certified Instructors.

DLGA offers the best golf instruction available in the world today.

Our philosophy is simple. The same proven techniques that we teach to top professionals can be applied to golfers at all levels – from complete beginners to seasoned pros. Developed by DLGA founder David Leadbetter, our practice methods have helped literally thousands of professional and amateur golfers transform their games beyond recognition.  
Based on the theory of cause and effect, the cornerstone of David’s teaching is to develop the correct co-ordination of all the muscles used in the swing motion to promote efficiency and consistency of movement.

The aim is to improve your swing motion by focusing on your unique technique or “feel”. We then develop a highly effective and easily repeatable sequence of tailored exercises to rapidly and permanently transform your game.

Before becoming certified, all DLGA instructors must successfully complete a rigorous one-year training programme. Supervised under the personal guidance of David Leadbetter, and Worldwide Director of Certification Kevin Smeltz, trainee instructors must pass a series of tests to meet DLGA’s exacting standards. Final certification depends on the satisfactory completion of a specialised coaching workbook. 

To ensure that our instructors remain up to date on the latest techniques and teaching methods, they receive regular personal contact and ongoing lessons from David and his teaching staff at our headquarters at Champions Gate, Florida.

All DLGA instructors are required to apply for yearly re-certification. The result is a 50-strong international team of highly qualified and resourceful instructors, each dedicated to helping you get the absolute best out of your game.
