How to start

Your visit at the Golf Club starts at the reception. There you can personally obtain all the information about a wide range of services offered on and around the golf course. The first contact with the Golfsport happens on the Driving Range. Here Golfers practice and learn how to hit balls. At the reception you can buy tokens for the ball machine, and rent a golf club (e.g. an 8-Iron ) which is best for beginners. A left-handed person should inform the staff at the reception and he/she will recieve a club for left-handers. The token is to be inserted into the ball machine, which will dispense a basket full of Range balls. From there on you can occupy one of the practice bays; for beginners it is easier to start practising from the matt (artificial grass), rather than from the real turf. Practising the game is based upon hitting the Range ball from the matt to a chosen target on the Range. While swinging the club, be cautious not to endanger or hit other people that might be around you. It is prohibited to collect any balls from the Range. You can always return to the reception to buy more tokens for the ball machine. After hitting a few balls you usually come to the following conclusions:

The first encounters usually end after hitting a few baskets of balls, getting blisters on your hands due to practising, and paying a visit at the club bar. Hitting golf balls from one and the same spot does not fully reflect the game of golf, but it is certainly enough to give a first impression of how difficult this game is. Nevertheless you will also find out how attractive this sport is. Being in nature on a well kept golf course with its scenery is uncomparable to other sports. From the Driving Range you can see and experience most of this; you will quickly realize how fast time goes by.

When beginning with the game of golf it is important to choose how you want to learn the game. You can learn on our own, from books, magazines, the internet, by listening to advice from other golfers or by having lessons with a qualified Golf- Pro (teacher). All ways have their advantages and disadvantages.
Regardless how you want to learn the game, before you start playing on the course, you must know the basic rules and etiquettes of the game of golf. How to control the ball over long and short distance and how to use the different golf clubs. Playing on your own is only possible after obtaining:

An entry ticket for the golf course (green fee) can be bought at the reception. During the game
TG&CCW employees have the right to control if a player has paid for the green fee.

Concluding:
You do not have to be a member of the club in order to use the golf course, you don’t have to have your own equipment, everything can be rented and maybe bought at a later time. In order to play on the golf course you must have apropriate knowledege and skills.
Everyone who is willing to respect the etiquettes and the regulations on the course, which are based upon common sense and good manners is more than welcome at the Toya Golf Club.
